wireless broadband & mobile phones
The Library contains a Wireless Broadband router which guests are welcome to use at no additional charge.

There is reasonable mobile / cellular phone coverage at the chateau. This depends somewhat on the location of the phone (better outside than in), the mobile provider and the weather.

Chateau Marouatte is located near the beautiful villages of Bordeilles and Brantome in the Dordogne. Click here for map. ferries / tunnel

train
There is a fast train from Paris to Angouleme, taking just over 2 hours. There is car hire available from Angouleme station, and this is around 30 minutes drive to Marouatte.

climate
The weather in the Dordogne is typically warm and hot with plenty of sunshine hours. That's not to say it never rains - the thunderstorms can be spectacular. Average monthly temperatures are as follows :
